Emmanuel
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 1:23
Charles H Spurgeon stated the following: “God with us, Emmanuel, it is wisdom’s mystery. Philosophers look at it and wonder. Angel’s desire to see it. The plumbline of reason cannot reach halfway into its depths and the eagle wings of science cannot fly so high”
Emmanuel, the Great Creator, God Almighty coming to earth God to dwell with us. Subsequently, for us today this act of love now gives us access to His presence in a greater way. God has always desired to be with his creation. After Adam’s fall in the garden, God has always looked for a way to have a relationship with us. He dwelled with mankind in tents through Abraham, in tabernacles through Moses and also in temples such as Solomon’s. However, at Christmas time we remember that he came to be with us in the form of a man. Jesus came to find you, to have a relationship with you and to allow us to truly understand what His presence is all about. Emmanuel.
So during this Christmas season, as you open up presents, remember that the greatest gift was actually all about His presence.
